Crusty glazed ceramic shard

There are bits of black rubble and cinders fused to the glaze of this piece of ceramic, the rubbish must have been burnt at some point and welded together. The London Destructors were huge incinerators, which generated electricity from steam to power streetlights and washrooms. They were polluting and unpopular, but something had to be done now that population, wages and consumption were on the up, and London’s residents generated more rubbish. Protests were made to take the dust out to the counties for fertilise, but there was so much, it had to be burnt to keep the mass down.
